Leon Russell - Americana (repost)

Leon Russell - Americana - 1978

The Aerovons - Resurrection (repost)

The Aerovons - Resurrection - 1969 (2003)

John Entwistle Band - Music From Van Pires (repost)

John Entwistle Band - Music From Van Pires - 2000

Aparentemente esta faixa faria parte de "Who Are You" do The Who, mas fora rejeitada.

Michael Giles - The Adventures Of The Michael Giles MAD BAND (repost)

Michael Giles - The Adventures Of The Michael Giles MAD BAND - 2009

"Mad Band music is made in the moment without composition, arrangements, rehearsal or great expectations. The only idea is to have no ideas and be completely  spontaneous. In a spirit of freedom the Mad Band explores the universe of sound, silence, space and time."

On the 40th anniversary of his celebrated debut recording, KIng Crimson's legendary former drummer Michael Giles returns with his first album of original material for nearly three decades.

Alongside Ad Chivers and Dan Pennie, Giles has created a powerfully percussive and innovative fusion of Free Rock and Jazz influences that marks genuinely fresh territory for this most expressive and unique of players.

Trapeze - The Final Swing (repost)

Trapeze - The Final Swing - 1974

from wikipedia....

Trapeze were an English rock band formed in March 1969, by vocalist John Jones and guitarist/keyboardist Terry Rowley (who named the band), with guitarist Mel Galley, singer/bassist Glenn Hughes, and drummer Dave Holland. The band had a fairly fluid line up, finally dissolving in 1994, and although they never found commercial success themselves, several members went on to join better known bands including Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Judas Priest and Uriah Heep.

The core and more familiar line-up of the band was Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley and Dave Holland. After Glenn Hughes' departure in June 1973, Galley and Holland decided to try to keep the band together, which they did with constantly varying members until 1979 when Holland went on to join Judas Priest. At this point the band broke up. Holland tried to revive the band in 1990, after leaving Priest, but the band finally broke up in 1994. Their first three albums remain their best known and most commercially successful.

The Final Swing is a compilation album released in 1974. It features songs from the original line-up of  Galley,  Hughes and Holland.

The Coal Porters - EP Roulette (repost)

The Coal Porters - EP Roulette - 1998

After the dissolution of the Long Ryders, musician Sid Griffin (who doubles as a music journalist, having penned Gram Parsons: A Music Biography in 1985) formed the Coal Porters in Los Angeles alongside Long Ryders drummer Greg Sowders and English bassist Ian Thomson.

This six-song odds-and-ends EP from Sid Griffin's post-Long Ryders project turned out to be the Coal Porters' last studio release before they retooled themselves into an acoustic group, and it sends this edition of the band off into the sunset on a high note. The lead-off tune, "Everything," is a winning bit of country-pop with the sort of anthemic chorus Griffin was born to write, while the live at the BBC version of "Me, Here at Your Door" that closes out the disc beats the studio take on Los London hands down. In between, you get a tasty preview of Griffin's subsequent band, Western Electric ("Emily in Ginger"), a remastered (and audibly improved) cut from Los London ("Help Me"), a cool Creedence Clearwater Revival cover ("Who'll Stop the Rain," appropriately mournful), and a tribute to that other Cole Porter ("Don't Fence Me In"), which swings nicely. It's no masterpiece, but EP Roulette is a fine pocket-sized picture of what Sid Griffin does best, and captures the Coal Porters in much stronger form than on the disappointing Los London.

Tony McPhee - Slide, T.S. Slide - 1996

Third World - AIYE-KETA (Steve Winwood, Remi Kabaka, Abdul Amao) (repost)

Third World - AIYE-KETA (Steve Winwood, Remi Kabaka, Abdul Amao)  - 1973

In 1973, while Steve Winwood was on hiatus from Traffic due to illness, he took part in a reggae trio called The Third World. It was a one-off project, not to be confused with the better-known, long-running reggae band of the same name. His two collaborators were african musicians Remi Kabaka (who had played with Winwood in Ginger Baker's Air Force) and Abdul Lasisi Amao (a founding member of the african group Osibisa). Their only album Aiye-Keta was produced by Winwood, who also played keyboards, lead guitar, and moog synthesizer.

Some later printings of the album gave artist billing to the three members instead of to Third World, possibly to avoid confusion with that other band.

Brian Friel - Brian Joseph Friel (repost)

Brian Friel - Brian Joseph Friel - 1974

Bulldog - Bulldog (repost)

Bulldog - Bulldog - 1973

By Joe Viglione, All Music Guide

Produced and played by drummer Dino Danelli and guitarist Gene Cornish of the Young Rascals, Bulldog's debut in 1972 opens with a heavy version of the Bobby Day number two hit from 1958, "Rockin' Robin," a performance which displays the strength and weakness of this ensemble. Bassist/lead vocalist Billy Hocher is a cross between Bob Tench of the Jeff Beck Group, Ian Lloyd of Stories, and Ralph Mormon of Savoy Brown. On tunes like "Juicin' With Lucy" and "Don't Blame It on Me," the singing becomes overbearing and a bit tedious, despite the journeyman abilities of the ex-Rascals producing this. Interesting that a band called Sweathog in 1971 had a hit with "Hallelujah" and a sound similar to Bulldog. Also worthy of note is that little Michael Jackson took "Rockin' Robin" back to number two nationally the same year this album was released, 1972. There is a real gem here in the song "No," a minor hit in some regions of the country that was written by Hocher and keyboardist John Turi. It suffered the same fate as Stories' excellent "I'm Coming Home," their 1972 almost-hit which is quite similar in sound and performance to Bulldog's "No." The Hocher/Turi songwriting team had some merit, with Billy Hocher's voice a bit more accessible on "You Underlined My Life" and "Have a Nice Day," both songs being somewhat pleasant and more refined than some of the other material here. John Turi gets to sing lead on the almost-funky version of Chuck Berry's "Too Much Monkey Business," featuring guitarists Eric Thorngren and Gene Cornish, who deliver a nice riff-rock sludge to augment Turi's boogie-woogie piano. Inevitable comparisons to the Rascals have the band falling short of what was accomplished when Cornish and Danelli performed with Eddie Brigati and Felix Cavaliere. "Parting People Should Be Good Friends" is nice British pop, and that style of radio-friendly songwriting and structure is where this band shines. It's just that the pop sensibilities are offset by the attempted blues of a song like "Good Times Are Comin'," which, unfortunately, holds this album back. Six years later, Gene Cornish and Dino Danelli would form Fotomaker with Wally Bryson of the Raspberries and a lineup similar to the Rascals. Though superior to Bulldog, the problem there as well was that a creative force like Eric Carmen or Felix Cavaliere was missing. The verdict is quite simple -- these energies put into more albums by the Rascals over these lost years is what the fans would have appreciated. Were that the case, "No" might have gotten a huge yes on the charts.

The Tremeloes - The Tremeloes Boxed! (repost)

The Tremeloes - The Tremeloes Boxed! - 2000

Originalmente a banda era composta vocalista Brian Poole, o guitarrista Ricky West, o tecladista Alan Blakely, o baixista Alan Howard eo baterista Dave Munden.

Henry McCullough - Poor Man's Moon (repost)

Henry McCullough - Poor Man's Moon - 2008

By  Rovi Eder from answers.com
Henry McCullough was one of the busier guitarists in England during the 1970s, and has played alongside such stars and superstars as Joe Cocker and Paul McCartney. Born in Portstewart, Northern Ireland in 1943, he took up the guitar as a boy and was playing in the Irish show band the Skyrockets in the mid-'60s. After a few years of playing dancehalls, he decided to move his career to the next phase -- he'd met three other players, Ernie Graham (guitar/vocals), Chris Stewart (bass), and Dave Lutton (drums), from a show band called Gene & the Gents, and together they formed the People, later renamed Eire Apparent. Their sound was a mix of blues, pop, and psychedelia, with a commercial and virtuoso edge to the playing and singing. They jumped into the big time after a move to London and being signed by Chas Chandler and Mike Jeffery, the managers of Jimi Hendrix -- from obscurity, they were suddenly thrust into Hendrix's orbit, touring England and then America in support of the legendary guitarist.

In 1972, McCullough passed an audition for Paul McCartney's new band, Wings, joining the bare-bones lineup of Denny Seiwell and Denny Laine (who were already aboard for the album Wild Life) in the first fully functional incarnation of the group. That version of Wings did play a few gigs and cut the album Red Rose Speedway, which restored McCartney (whose career had faltered somewhat with the previous album) to full critical and commercial success. Its sales were driven by the soaring romantic ballad "My Love," a hit single that gave McCullough his most visible moment on record to date, with a guitar solo that was all over AM radio in the months following its release. During the recording of the album at EMI, McCullough made an unintended contribution to another top-seller of the period when took a break -- he ended up in the adjacent studio, joining a Pink Floyd session where he made a spoken word contribution that got him onto Dark Side of the Moon. He left Wings after the one album and later turned to session work, playing on records by Marianne Faithfull, Roy Harper, Ronnie Lane, Frankie Miller, Eric Burdon, and Spooky Tooth, joining the latter on their fourth album. A hand injury in the early '80s left him sidelined for an extended period, and it wasn't until 1988 that McCullough re-emerged fully, leading his own band in Ireland. For the next decade, he confined his work exclusively to Ireland, but in the late '90s he cut a series of sessions for an album in Poland and toured the country. More recently, he has turned to songwriting and generated "Failed Christian," which was later recorded by Nick Lowe.
