The Kast Off Kinks formed in 1994 to keep the music playing on, and it is what the name implies - the original line-up consisted of the band that played Lola (apart from Ray and Dave) - Avory, Dalton and Gosling - together with singer/guitarist Dave Clarke.
The current line-up is the band that played Come Dancing - Avory, Gibbons and Rodford (respectively the Kinks’ longest-serving drummer, keyboard player and bassist) - still with Dave Clarke covering for the Davies brothers. (As Jim is currently very busy playing with The Zombies and Argent, John Dalton often comes out of retirement to stand in for him.)Almost every other ex-Kink has guested with The Kast Off Kinks, including Ray Davies.
The Archway EP, was made in conjunction with The Kinks' fan club.

Sortudo de quem viu esse dia em q o Ray apareceu pra dar uma canja!Com todo respeito ao Peter Quaife(RIP),mas meu line up favorito deles eh justamente o q gravou Lola,pena q no inicio dos 70's o Ray Davies viajou nuns lances chatos dukacete.Bem,so meu gosto pessoal,mas depois do "Lola" acho q os caras so mandaram realmente bem no "Schoolboys",acho meio chatos os discos entre esses dois citados,gosto apenas de algumas musicas soltas,talvez tenha de ouvi-los mais.Bicho,to esperando o Dave Davies q vai passar por aqui no dia 11 de Junho,se rolar ate gravo em video.Ja levei um cano dele antes,se o fdp nao vier dessa vez eu mato ele,hehe.1 abraco.

Ray Davies é um daqueles que achavam que era mais importante que a banda e que todo o sucesso se devia a ele.
Embora ele tenha sido essencial, isso ñ era verdade, basta ver a disco solo dele e responder qual daqueles discos não podem faltar em um discoteca decente.
