Dia desses (não faz tantos dias assim) recebi um contato do pessoal desta banda apresentando o seu som. Segui o link e achei o som dos caras bem interessante, com um sabor retrô, típico dos anos 70, sem deixar de lado uma boa camada de  modernidade.

Não é a primeira vez que recebo esse tipo de pedido, confessando que das vezes passadas o som não me cativou. Alguns  achei ruim e outros não se encaixava no que costumo postar.

Com eles foi diferente. Os poucos amigos a quem apresentei o som, foram unânimes que valeria postar este EP/DEMO com 3 faixas gravadas no final de 2011. Não só pelo som - que é bom! - mas também pelo princípio de compartilhar aqueles que desejam ser compartilhados.

O review a seguir me foi fornecido pelo próprio pessoal da banda, a meu pedido, para melhor apresentar a vocês à Lone Crows.

Então é isso. Baixem, curtam e, se quiserem, deixem a impressão que tiveram. Espero que eles lhes surpreendam positivamente como a mim surpreenderam.

Formerly known as the progressive thrash metal outfit “Heart of Bristol”, the band spent the first couple years after their formation refining their musical chops. After gracing local Minneapolis venues such as The Beat & Barfly, the band decided on a new musical direction in mid-2011. Combining the blues of Stevie Ray Vaughn, musical prowess of Led Zeppelin, and heavy riffs of Kyuss, the band changed their name to “The Lone Crows” and recorded their debut 3 track demo “The Big Smokey Room”. Released on December 2nd to a packed house, the demo thoroughly displayed the band’s new sound. The Lone Crows are a stunning mix of Blues, Jam, Garage and even heavy Stoner rock styles that culminate in a variety of songs ranging from punishing 14 minute jams to simple soulful ballads.
